Thanksgiving Football Betting – Patriots vs Jets
2012-11-30

New England leads the division, but they didn’t look good in their first matchup against the NY Jets. Also, they lost Rob Gronkowski for at least six weeks; a major absent for the offense. “It’s part of this game,” said quarterback Tom Brady.

“He’s (Gronkowski) got to do his best to get back as soon as possible, and we’ve got to go out there and win some games without him.”

“(Gronkowski is) one of the best players in the league,” Aaron Hernandez said. “It puts pressure on everybody. Not just one player can just replace him”.

The Jets will try to take advantage of Rob’s absent, but also put pressure on Brady.

“Right now, we’re just swinging,” Ryan said. “We’re going to focus on our opponents, specifically, but anything we do, we’re behind where we have to be. We can only focus on ourselves and just find a way to punch it. We earned where we are, and we just have to find a way to punch our way out”.

New York outplayed the Rams last week, but they know they have a bigger challenge on Thursday.

New England is 9-2 SU in their last 11 games when playing on the road against NY Jets, and they have covered against the spread 11 of the last 13 games.

NFL Sneak Peek – Week 1 – Giants vs. Lions

The Giants and Lions both fell short of the playoffs last year each playing in divisions that earned just one postseason slot. Detroit was alive until the Giants beat them 23-20 in overtime during week 16 in Michigan. It also put the final nail in Lions coach Jim Schwartz’s coffin. Detroit seemed on their way to victory leading 20-13 late in the fourth quarter but New York scored a defense touchdown to tie the game, and kicked a game winning field goal on their second possession of overtime. The Lions final five chances with the ball ended with four punts and a defensive score. New York was limited to just 41 yards on the ground on 21 carries while the Lions scampered for 148 yards. The teams combined for five turnovers.

It’s been a busy summer for teams in the East’s Southeast Division.  Miami lost LeBron James, which automatically made for a bad summer, but did recuperate pretty nicely.  Charlotte is slowly becoming a very good team.  Washington was busy in free agency but will still rely on guards John Wall and Bradley Beal.  Orlando remains on the rebuilding path.  And finally, the Atlanta Hawks made some small but solid moves this summer.  Let’s take a closer look at each team’s offseason:
