2 Things Bettors Need to Know Today (Oct. 12)

If you are looking for a brief summary of what you need to know today to make informed betting choices, you’ve come to the right place! We’ll make sure you’ve got the most up-to-date map before you embark on your sports-betting voyage.

1. The Giants suspended DRC

The Giants are in the middle of a historic meltdown. After winning 11 games last year, they started 2017 with reasonable playoff hopes and some promising additions. Instead of reaching those lofty goals, they’ve started the season 0-5 and have a litany of problems, some of which we’ll detail here, in our “the New York Giants are terrible and you should bet against them at every opportunity” edition of Things to Know.

To start off, they suspended cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, whom Pro Football Focus grades as the 30th-best cornerback in the NFL. We’re not sure why he was suspended, or even when, really, but it was apparently a coaching decision.

Betting Tip: The Giants travel to Denver this week, and the line isn’t even that crazy. It opened at +9 for the Giants and swelled to +11.5, but it still seems likely that the Broncos will cover against the hapless G-men.

2. OBJ is out for the season

Adding to the Giants’ woes, the player that is very clearly the entirety of their offense fractured his ankle and will miss the remainder of the 2017 season. Odell Beckham Jr is arguably the most dangerous wide receiver in the league, and certainly the most interesting. Without him, the Giants are lost on offense and Eli Manning has nobody to idly chuck the ball in the general direction of.

Betting Tip: That 11.5 points doesn’t seem so crazy now, does it?
