Eduardo Nunez steps into the toughest test of his career when he faces WBO champion Emanuel Navarrete. This bout between two Mexican power punchers is being promoted to determine the division’s “Next King of Mexico.”
Let’s break down the Super Featherweight unification title fight in Arizona between Emanuel Navarrete and Eduardo Nunez. Navarrete, from Mexico City, holds a record of 39-2-1 with 32 KOs, while Nunez enters at 29-1 with 27 KOs.

Navarrete has held world titles across three weight classes. He’s the favorite in this one, while Nunez enters the bout as a significant underdog. That being said, Nunez has not lost a fight since 2018!
The last fight Navarrete lost was to Denys Berinchyk by split decision in 2024. However, we can’t overlook the controversial NC during Navarrete’s WBO title defense against Charly Suarez last May.

Will Navarrette be able to apply pressure early and often? He typically throws punches in bunches, wearing opponents down.
Nunez has to avoid fighting the fight on Navarrette’s terms. He can’t stand flat-footed and tries to win exchanges in the middle of the ring. He will have to use smart footwork and drive Navarrette toward the ropes.
Navarrete will lean on his height and reach advantage. He will try to turn this fight into a war of attrition. His elite conditioning allows him to lean into this strategy instead of a single knockout blow.
Two years ago today Eduardo Nunez stopped Shavkat Rakhimov in Round 11 of 12 in an IBF Super Featherweight Eliminator

Nunez needs to focus on attacking his body early in the fight, hoping to open up some headshots later. He should look to counter Navarrete’s looping hooks and uppercuts. If Nunez survives the early rounds, the better his chances of winning will be.
This fight will test Nunez’s mental toughness. While most expect Navarrete to win, Nunez has a clear path if his fight plan works. In this one, I’m backing Nunez to pull off the upset.
I’d take Nunez at +165 to win this fight. I think he stops Navarrete before round 10.

Given these fighters’ records, it would be surprising if the fight reached the final bell. Navarrette overwhelms opponents with punches. The consistent punch volume creates constant opportunities for a stoppage.
On the other side of the ring, Nunez’s durability will be the determining factor. If he can absorb Navarrete’s early pressure through the first six rounds, he keeps his chances alive. Nunez will need to make it through the middle rounds, all while focusing on landing body shots.
I like Nunez to win this fight, and I like him to win this fight in under 10.5 rounds. Betting Under 10.5 Rounds at +160 is the best bet for this fight.
This fight has stoppage written all over it. If you can get plus-money on the fight ending early, you have to take advantage of it. These are two power punchers that rack up the KOs.
3 years ago, Emanuel Navarrete defeated Liam Wilson by TKO in round 9 of 12 to win the vacant WBO super featherweight title. Vaquero becomes a three-division champion.

If my analysis is wrong and Navarrete wins the fight, he will most likely win by knockout, making the Under 10.5 rounds bet a winner.
