Ennis heavily favored
Jaron Ennis (-700) became the IBF welterweight champion in January 2023 with a unanimous decision victory over Karen Chukhadzhian. The 27-year-old Philadelphia native knocked out Roiman Villa in the 10th round in July 2023 to retain the title. He then defeated David Avanesyan when the bout was halted before the start of the sixth round.
In his last outing in November 2024, “Boots” won a rematch against Chukhadzhian by decision. Looking to become the undisputed champion in the welterweight division, a victory over Stanionis would stamp Ennis’ name to list of 147lbs fighters that includes Floyd Mayweather and Sugar Ray Leonard.

Can Stanionis pull the upset?
Eimantas Stanionis (+425) won the WBA regular title way back in April 2022 against Radzhab Butaev. After three consecutive fights against Vergil Ortiz Jr. were canceled, the 30-year-old Lithuanian had a two-year layoff before returning to the ring with a victory over Gabriel Maestre in May 2024.
When Terence Crawford vacated the WBA belt, Stanionis was elevated to full champion in August, setting up the unification bout with Ennis.

Bet on a knockout
Interestingly, this Saturday’s 12-round bout is favored (-190) to go to decision despite the fact that Ennis is 33-0 with 29 KOs, and that Stanionis is 15-0 with 9 KOs. Given that both boxers have combined for 38 knockouts in 48 career fights (a 79% KO rate between them), the +145 on the fight not going the distance looks to be good value.
Ennis’ father/trainer Bozy said recently, “I think Boots got in the habit of knocking everybody out…He got so hung up on knocking guys out and then he find out you can’t punch, he don’t care about you touching him. But I want to get away from that.”

Take the Under
There’s heavy juice on the OVER 10.5 rounds (-240) with the UNDER available at +180. Stanionis is known for his stamina and strong mindset – so he’ll be hard to knock out. However, the former Olympian knows he’s not expected to win. “They are building a superstar, but I am in the way, and I want to fuck up all their plans,” said Stanionis.
While there’s not much value in taking Ennis to win the fight at (-700), we like Boots to defeat Stanionis before the 11th round bell.
