On Saturday, April 1, two-time Olympic gold medal winner Robeisy Ramirez looks to claim his first major professional boxing title when he faces former WBO junior-featherweight champion Isaac Dogboe at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The winner of the bout, which will be streamed on ESPN+, claims the vacant WBO featherweight title, which Emanuel Navarrete vacated in February in order to compete at junior lightweight, where he holds the WBO title.
Ramirez, who won Olympic gold in 2012 at flyweight and in 2016 at bantamweight, turned pro in 2019. He dropped his professional debut by split decision. Since that loss, Ramirez is 11-0 with seven knockouts. He is coming off a ninth-round TKO win over Jose Matias Romero in October. The Ring has Ramirez rated as the No. 8 fighter at featherweight.
Dogboe, who is unrated by The Ring at 126 pounds, has a 24-2 record with 16 KOs. Both his losses came to Navarrete at junior-featherweight. Since losing those back-to-back fights in 2018 and 2019, Dogboe is 4-0 and coming off a July split decision win over Joet Gonzalez.

Robeisy Ramirez vs. Isaac Dogboe prediction and pick
Ramirez is a southpaw, and he is the better boxer of the two. He employs level changes in his arsenal and uses them well when feinting and countering his opponent. He also does a good job of mixing activity with inactivity to create openings when his opponent becomes impatient. Ramirez also mixes up his targets to create openings, attacking the body to open the head or using a high guard to attack to the head.
Dogboe is more of a power puncher than Ramirez, but he is not a brawler. However, he counters well and has a nice overhand that can catch his opponents when they do not expect it. On the downside, Dogboe tends to reach, lunge and swing wide, which will create problems for him against someone like Ramirez who will be able to pick up Dogboe’s timing as the fight wears on.
Who has the edge
Dogboe has a chance to exploit Ramirez’s somewhat basic footwork and his tendency to either drop his hands or keep his hands too high when he employs his guard.
Ramirez needs to employ a more active jab than he usually does in this fight. If he fails to do that, Dogboe will close distance and fight in close, allowing him to catch Ramirez with hooks to the head and body.
Best Bets for Robeisy Ramirez vs. Isaac Dogboe
This is an interesting fight to bet on from an odds standpoint. There is not a lot of value in betting Robeisy Ramirez to win, but that also seems like the safest wager to make. Isaac Dogboe presents some value, especially if one believes he can get in close and stay there against Ramirez. However, that value comes with risk because Ramirez is the better fighter in this matchup.
My pick is Ramirez. If he fights smart, Ramirez will catch the timing of Dogboe and land a power punch when Dogboe is squared up and in front of Ramirez, and that will allow him to close out the fight in the second half of the 12-round contest.
Pick: Robeisy Ramirez to beat Isaac Dogboe by knockout.
