Rajasthan have won four of their seven matches, and are on eight points at the top end of the IPL table. They have lost their last two though, and could do with a win in this match to get their season back on track. The problem is, the Chennai Super Kings are on a three match winning run. CSK have also started the season far better than anybody imagined, and sit top of the table on 10 points, having won five of their seven matches.
This is more like the Super Kings of old. The swagger and air of confidence has returned. This, after what was a disappointing 2022 campaign, where CSK finished ninth in the table, winning just four of their 14 games. Rather than last year’s team, this version looks more like the CSK team that swept to their fourth IPL title in 2021. On that occasion they defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs in the final.

Betting to win the 2023 IPL
And it would appear that the best online cricket betting sites agree, because they now have the Chennai Super Kings as +350 joint favorites to win the 2023 IPL. The Super Kings share the favorites tag with the Gujarat Titans, who are the defending champions.
This is some swing in the betting, as the Super Kings started the season as the eighth (out of 10) favorites at +900.
The Rajasthan Royals have also been the favorites at times this year, but at the moment they are third in the betting at +375. This puts them very close to both Gujarat and Chennai, but after back-to-back defeats, this particular cricket betting market seems to be losing a bit of faith in Sanju Sampson’s team.

In their response, CSK fell agonizingly short. Devon Conway got things going with 50 from 38 balls. But then the top order collapsed, and despite a 59 run stand from skipper MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja, the Super Kings still lost by just 3 runs. For our pick, we have taken a lot of things into consideration. The past results, home advantage, but most importantly, current form. The Royals don’t seem to be playing at the same level as the Super Kings currently are. And Rajasthan also don’t look as solid and assured as they did when they defeated the Super Kings back on April 12th.
So even though they are the away team, we have to make the Chennai Super Kings our betting pick to win. Yes, Rajasthan are capable, but the form is just on the side of MS Dhoni’s team at the moment.
Our second bet of the match is for the top batter. Devon Conway has been in good form for the Super Kings lately. He has scores of 50, 77 (not out), 83, and 50, in his last four matches. The cricket ball must look more like a beach ball to Conway at the moment, and we think he’s good value to be the top scorer when the two sides meet again.
