The final test match of the series is about to get underway in Grenada this week, so here we bring you our West Indies v England 3rd Test betting picks.
In the latest sports betting odds, England is the favorite at +110 on the Moneyline. The Draw is +170, with the West Indies at +340.
So with home advantage in the West Indies’ favor, why are they so far behind in the betting? Let’s take a look.
West Indies v England; The Story So Far
As things stand, the series is 0-0 with one match left to play. So, whoever wins this match, takes the series.
But if the Test match is a draw, the series will also be classed as a draw, and as the current holders of what is now known as the Botham-Richards Trophy (previously the Wisden Trophy), England will retain the title.

Test match cricket is often described as one for the purists. What this translates to, is that it can be boring at times, and not very appealing to the casual sports fan. Only the purists could follow it!
Sadly, that’s been the case so far in this series. Both the 1st and 2nd Tests were not just drawn, but drab draws. There wasn’t much action to write home about in either match.
In the two test matches played, England has left the West Indies with slightly bloody noses, but didn’t manage any knockout blows.
There was just a brief period on Day 5 in both tests when England picked up a couple of quick wickets and sensed a possible West Indies batting collapse. But on both occasions, the West Indies managed to steady the ship and bat through relatively unscathed.
So will England be able to land the big punch in Grenada over the coming days? Or will it be the West Indies – who after having to absorb a lot of pressure from Joe Root’s team – that lands the knockout blow?
I just hope there is not a repeat of the first two matches, and that we actually get some exciting cricket in the final match.
If the West Indies want to get their hands on the Botham-Richards Trophy, they have to win this match. So could this be the catalyst to see them really go for broke in a one-off shoot-out?
The alternative is, to play safe and not lose the series. Another draw will get them points towards the World Test Championship, but it won’t see them get their hands on the trophy.

West Indies v England Betting Picks
Right, now let’s have a look at both sides and their possible chances of winning the Test, starting with the home team.
Are the West Indies ready to go for broke?
So far in this series, the West Indies have played cautious cricket, almost like their priority is not to lose.
This could possibly have been all part of the game plan. It could have been done with the view of still being in the series going into the final match, where they plan to release the shackles and take the game to England.

In the previous series between these two sides in the West Indies, the home team won 2-1. The tourists haven’t won in the Caribbean since a 3-0 win in the 2003/04 series.
England is also a team trying to rebuild after a chastening year, and West Indies can’t let a chance like this pass them by and I’m sure they will go for the win.

Improving England to win the Test and Series!
As for England, after an awful 2021, a series win in the West Indies would be a great start to the new year. Interim coach Paul Collingwood would love the job on a full-time basis, and winning in the West Indies would be the ideal result to put on his Resume.
England captain Joe Root could also do with a series win here. He can consider himself lucky to still be in a job, so another series without a win is the last thing he needs.
Root’s England team has had the better of the series to date. Spinner Jack Leach looks to have grown in confidence, and in the 2nd Test, debutant Saqib Mahmood showed plenty of promise.
I expect the West Indies to take more chances in this Test, and that means more openings for Root’s team. I’m making England my pick to win the 3rd Test.
