2025 IPL favorites
Sunrisers Hyderabad (+450) fell to the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2024 IPL final – the franchise’s first final in six years. They added Ishan Kishan and Mohammed Shami to a lineup that already included Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy. With an ultra-aggressive batting approach, SRH could be poised to win their first title since 2016.
Chennai Super Kings (+450) have won two of the last four championships, but missed the playoffs altogether last year. The team stocked up with spinners and brought back some former players (R Ashwin, Sam Curran and Vijay Shankar) for the upcoming season.

KKR lose their captain
Kolkata Knight Riders (+650) opted not to retain their captain, Shreyas Iyer, after winning the title last season. They also lost their mentor, Gautam Gambhir, and other top minds from the franchise’s think tank.
KKR had the most formidable spin attack in the 2024 tournament, but all the roster turnover makes their upcoming year hard to predict.
Other IPL contenders
The Mumbai Indians (+650) have secured five IPL titles since the league started in 2008. However, they finished dead last last year and haven’t captured a championship since 2020. Mumbai brought back coach Mahela Jayawardene, who won three titles with the franchise, and added talent through the auction. With seven players on their roster who’ve won IPL trophies with different franchises, the Indians should bounce back.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (+700) is still looking for its first title after falling short in three finals. The club has a new captain, Rajat Patidar, and has a balanced batting lineup with a mix of power and control.

Can PBKS compete?
Punjab Kings (+1000) finished second last in the league last season and hasn’t made the playoffs since 2014. But their new captain, Shreyas Iyer, has been part of five title wins since March 2024, including his IPLK victory with KKR. With a well-rounded squad full of big names, the perennially under-performing franchise could be playoff bound.
Best Longshot Bet
Gujurat Titans (+800) are available at long odds because they missed the playoffs last season. However, their 28 wins over three seasons is the most by any club in the last three years.
