After being pushed back from its original Jan. 31 time slot, the 2021 GRAMMY Awards will take place this Sunday, March 14th with performances from Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, Cardi B, and many other of the biggest names in the music industry.

Before the ceremony on CBS, let’s check the latest odds for the top awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best New Artist.

Grammy 2021- Record of the Year Odds

Dont Start Now (Dua Lipa)-200-190
Black Parade (Beyonce)+325+350
Savage (Megan Thee Stallion feat Beyonce)+400+450
Everything I Wanted (Billie Eilish)+850+900
Circles (Post Malone)+1100+1200
Say So (Doja Cat)+1300+1400
Rockstar (DaBaby feat Roddy Ricch)+1700+1800
Colors (Black Pumas)+1800+2000

Dua Lipa favored to win Record of the Year

The Grammy Award for Record of the Year is the top award to honor an artist’s performance, along with the production and mixing behind a song. Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now” (-200) is the betting favorite after peaking at number two on the Hot 100. Pop songs have traditionally fared the best out of all genres in this category and this catchy tune was also nominated in the Song of the Year and Pop Solo Performance categories.

Leading the Grammy field with nine total nominations, Beyoncé is a double nominee for the first time in her career with Black Parade (+325) and Savage (+400), the latter of which is probably the better bet as it topped the Billboard Hot 100 and most Best Record winners are commercial hits.

Grammy 2021- Song of the Year Odds

Cardigan (Taylor Swift)-135-135
Dont Start Now (Dua Lipa)+250+275
Black Parade (Beyonce)+425+450
Everything I Wanted (Billie Eilish)+700+750
I Cant Breathe (HER)+1100+1200
The Box (Roddy Ricch)+1800+2000
If The World Was Ending (JP Saxe feat Julia M)+2300+2500

Will Taylor Swift’s Cardigan win?

The Grammy for Song of the Year is one of the most coveted honors for songwriters in the music industry, honoring a track’s writing, including lyrics and melodic composition. Taylor Swift’s “Cardigan” (-135) has the shortest odds, but the song was not as big a hit as her previous efforts or past winners in the category.

Album of the Year also tends to overlap with Record of the Year – that would make Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now” (+250) a strong value here. Billie Eilish’s “Everything I Wanted” (+700) is an underdog in both categories, but if she manages to pull the upset here, she’ll be the first songwriter to win two years in a row.

Folklore expected to be named Best Album

At the young age of 31, Taylor Swift is looking to become the first woman ever to win Album of the Year at the Grammys three times. She could also join Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, and Frank Sinatra as only the fourth artist ever to achieve the feat. Finishing top five in the year-end Billboard 200 chart, Folklore (-180) proved to be both a critical and commercial success, but Dua Lipa could play spoiler with Future Nostalgia (+250).

Lipa was nominated for Song, Record, and Album of the Year while Swift was snubbed in the Record of the Year category. The English singer-songwriter also went two-for-two in 2019, winning Best New Artist and Best Dance Recording (“Electricity”), so she’s a favorite of Grammy voters.

Grammy 2021- Best New Artist Odds

Megan Thee Stallion-240
Doja Cat+275
Phoebe Bridgers+350
Noah Cyrus+1800
Ingrid Andress+2000
D Smoke+3300

Megan Thee Stallion for Best New Artist?

The Best New Artist category has always been kind to solo female artists, so it makes perfect sense that Megan Thee Stallion (-240), hit-maker Doja Cat (+275), and critical-darling Phoebe Bridgers (+350) are viewed as the best bets to take home the award.

After becoming only the second female rapper ever with two chart-toppers, Megan Thee Stallion garnered four total Grammy nominations this year. Doja Cat also hit number-one with her single “Say So” and won an MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist, but let’s remember this is an award show after all. Given that Bridgers is a known “critic’s choice” with an album that scored 90 on MetaCritic, she might have the best chance of scoring the upset here.
