WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2022 Picks

  • Bron Breakker (-500) is a heavy favorite to retain the NXT championship belt
  • Julius Creed (-400) is chalk to win his Ambulance Match while Cora Jade (-150) is expected to emerge victorious from her Weapons Wild Match
  • Held at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, the event will stream live on Peacock on Saturday, October 22, 2022

Once a mainstay WCW pay-per-view, Halloween Havoc is now in its third year under the banner of WWE’s developmental brand NXT. This year’s event has a particularly strong card with current champion Bron Breakker taking on former NXT UK champion Ilja Dragunov and JD McDonagh in a Triple Threat Match.

Before we make our picks on three of the Halloween Havoc matches, here’s where you can view the best 2022 WWE betting sites and the top betting sites for Entertainment in 2022.

NXT Championship Match

Triple Threat Match

Bron Breakker (-500) paid tribute to his uncle Scott Steiner at a recent NXT event, challenging both Ilja Dragunov (+250) and JD McDonagh (+1000) to a Triple Threat match at Halloween Havoc. Using “Steiner Math” — an iconic promo from the legendary wrestler — the current NXT champion informed the Irish Ace he only had “a 33.3% chance of winning the belt.”

McDonagh recently lost to Breakker, but it looked like he earned another title shot by defeating longtime rival Tyler Bate. That was until the former NXT UK champion Ilja Dragunov returned to the ring.

Dragunov was forced to relinquish his UK title due to injury, and he shares a long history with McDonagh from NXT UK. Of the two challengers, the Russian is more likely to end the two-time champion’s reign.

However, Breakker is a fan favorite who is more than likely to retain his belt. After all, the -500 odds suggest his opponents have far less than a 33.3% chance to steal his hardware.

Ambulance Match

Julius Creed-400
Damon Kemp+250

Creed vs Kemp

Julius Creed (-400) will face Damon Kemp (+250) in NXT’s first-ever Ambulance Match. Fought under hardcore rules (no pinfalls, no submissions, no disqualifications, no count-outs), the only way to claim victory is to force one’s opponent into the back of an ambulance and shut the door.

This particular Ambulance Match also comes with a stipulation. If Julius wins, his brother (and Diamond Mine tag-team partner) Brutus Creed will earn a match with Kemp. However, if he loses, Brutus has to leave “NXT.” Oddmakers don’t see that happening at the moment, but since it’s the juicier possibility, we’ll take the underdog Kemp at +250.

Weapons Wild Match

Cora Jade-150
Roxanne Perez+110

Jade vs Perez

Former besties turned bitter rivals, Cora Jade (-150) and Roxanne Perez (+110) will go toe-to-toe in a Weapons Wild Match. The spin on a hardcore match will allow the former NXT Women’s tag team champions to hit each other with foreign objects such as the Kendo stick that Jade has used to beatdown her opponents of late.

Perez couldn’t bring herself to use the Kendo stick on her ex-teammate during their first encounter at NXT Heatwave, giving Jade the opening she needed to secure a victory. We believe The Prodigy will once again hesitate to land a decisive blow, allowing Jade to steal a second-consecutive win against her former partner.
