Esports action never seems to end and this week is no different, so let’s look at the next round of matches and get some 2022 LPL Spring betting picks.
Yes, we’re in Week 8 – the penultimate week of the group stage – of the 2022 LPL Spring Classic competition.
The competition seems to have been going on for so long now, that you could be forgiven for thinking it started in the previous century.
But we’re finally getting to the business end now, and there are just a few matches to go before we see seven teams eliminated and the start of the playoffs.
In the competition so far, Victory Five and Weibo Gaming are still the teams to beat.
After a slow start to the competition by the pre-tournament favorites, the two Chinese teams emerged as the unfancied front runners.
Plenty of us expected their challenges to falter, but so far both sides have managed to maintain their respective title pursuits.

TES is on a winning streak of six. But while Weibo is only on a winning streak of one, they have won nine of their last ten matches. Yes, they’ve been red hot. And before their 2-0 defeat to RNG in Week 7, they had won their previous eight.
The defeat to Royal Never Give Up was a setback. Make no mistake about that. Throughout Weibo’s ascent to the top end of the table, a lot of esports fans have been expecting them to fade away, and the pre-competition favorites to take over at the top.
This hadn’t happened until the loss to Royal Never Give Up. So it was a psychologically damaging defeat more than anything else.
As for Top Esports, in five of their six wins in this streak, they were taken to a deciding game. And with a series win rate of 67%, they are some distance behind Weibo’s 83%.
In the handicap market, Top Esports is +225 starting at -1.5 games. So for this bet to win, TES needs to win 2-0 on the day. For the record, Weibo is -300 to win with a +1.5 game start.
In the over/under games market it is also close. Over 2.5 games are -110. While under 2.5 games is -125.
In a match that looks close to call, I think the value bet has to be over 2.5 games, and that is my esports betting pick in this match.
Victory Five v Anyone’s Legend Betting Picks
The second match this weekend I want to look at involves the top-of-the-table Victory Five, who take on Anyone’s Legend, early on Saturday morning.

This match isn’t anywhere near as close to call in the betting, and it’s easy to see why.
V5 sits top of the table with an 85% win rate (11-2), while Anyone’s Legend is midtable on 38% with a 5-8 win/loss record.
On the Moneyline, the top esports betting sites make V5 just -800, way too short to be getting involved with. And even at appealing odds of +450, who could predict a win here for AL? Certainly not me.
Victory Five are -175 to win on the handicap line from a -1..5 start, again, that means they need to win 2-0 for the bet to win.
V5 has won four out of their last five matches by this margin, so Victory Five to win on the handicap is my betting pick here.
