- What: Call of Duty League 2022 Championship Weekend
- Date: August 4, 2022 through August 7, 2022
- Location: Galen Center in Los Angeles, California
The 2022 Call of Duty season ends in the coming week. The top eight teams from league play meet in a seeded tournament format to decide the winner of the current season. The prize pool for the tournament totals $2.55 million. The winning team takes home $1.2 million while the runner-up earns $650,000.
The Atlanta FaZe are the defending champions. They defeated the Toronto Ultra in the 2021 Call of Duty League Championship. Atlanta finished the 2022 regular season with 330 points. Optic Texas earned the second most points with 265. The Los Angeles Thieves came in third with 215. In fourth place was the London Royal Ravens. Following London were the Seattle Surge, Boston Breach, Toronto Ultra and the New York Subliners.
The winner of last year’s CDL playoffs MVP, aBeZy of the Atlanta FaZE is back in the mix for the 2022 MVP, but he has competition from his teammate, Cellium, who is the favorite to win the 2022 CDL playoff MVP.
The Championship Tournament follows a double elimination format.

Call of Duty League 2022 Championship MVP Picks
|Call of Duty Championship MVP|
A member of the Atlanta FaZe, Cellium has the highest overall kill/death ratio in the Call of Duty league at 1.22. He also has the best kill/death ratio in Hardpoint (1.25), Search and Destroy (1.20), and the number two kill/death ratio in Control (1.18).
If the 21-year-old keeps playing like he has during the season and the FaZe at least get to the final two of the 2022 Call of Duty Championship tourney, Cellium will be in the running for the Most Valuable Player in the Championship tourney.
Dashy is a member of OpTic Texas, who finished the 2022 Call of Duty season in second place behind the Atlanta FaZe. With that, Dashy and his team are expected to go fairly deep into the double elimination championship tournament.
The 23-year-old Canadian Call of Duty player is second in overall kill/death ratio (1.20). He is also second in kill/death ratio in Hardpoint (1.17). Dashy is eighth in kill/death ratio in Search and Destroy (1.14), while being the top-rated player in kill/death ratio in Control (1.28).
Kenny does not have the overall numbers of Cellium or Dashy, but the Los Angeles Thieves player has momentum as the Thieves enter the Championship Tournament after winning the fourth and final major of the 2022 season. The 22-year-old American player feels that he and his team are the squad to beat heading into the Championship and if the team can ride their win over the New York Subliners to the finals, he will be in the running for Championship MVP accolades.
The Atlanta FaZe have been the dominant team during the 2022 Call of Duty season and despite Los Angeles winning the final major, the FaZe are favored to win the 2022 Call of Duty Championship Tournament. I think that will play out and with that, Cellium will be the MVP.
Pick: Cellium to win Call of Duty League 2022 Championship MVP.
