Los Grandes
Los Grandes previously competed under the Flamengo Los Grandes, but after partially acquiring Simplicity One and purchasing Team oNe eSports, Los Grandes makes their CBLOL debut in 2023.
Los Grandes has an experienced team with HiRit, Ranger, Lava, Netuno and zay. The only player who signed on with the team before December 2022 was Ranger, who joined in July last year.
HiRit is the player to watch on Los Grande. The 24-year-old has wins at TCL Winter 2020, LFL Summer 2019 and LFL Spring 2019 on his resume. The Korean-born player was also the 2020 TCL Winter Outstanding Rookie.
paiN Gaming
paiN Gaming finished in the No. 4 spot during the first CBLOL split of 2022. The team then finished in the runner-up spot during the Split 1 playoffs. paiN Gaming last won a CBLOL split in 2021.
pain Gaming added two new players in December 2022 in ProDelta and Bvoy. The other team members Wizer, dyNquedo, Damage and Cariok, have all been with the squad since at least December 2021.
paiN Gaming is a good team, but they were swept in the playoffs in Split 2 of 2022 by LOUD, which could affect team confidence.
LOUD
LOUD has some momentum heading into Split 1 in 2023. The team finished out of the playoffs in the first split of 2022, but bounced back with a fourth-place finish in the second split and then went on to sweep paiN Gaming in the CBLOL Split 2 playoffs.
LOUD could have had a better run at the League of Legends World Championships in 2022, where they finished in 19-20, but the experience in that event should pay dividends for the team heading into the first split of 2023.
Our pick
The odds favor the new team in Los Grandes, but its hard to take a flyer on a group that hasn’t competed together in a sanctioned League of Legends event as of yet. With what we know and the momentum and confidence they have after Split 2 in 2022, the best bet to win Split 1 of the CBLOL season is LOUD.
Pick: LOUD to win Split 1 of the CBLOL season.
