The most recent winners of the Rocket League World Championship is NRG. NRG won in December 2019. Two seasons were cancelled because of COVID-19.
Moist Esports
Moist Esports were the No. 1 team in the European rankings during the 2021-22 Rocket League season. The team is coached and managed by Noah Hinder. (noah) Other team members are Finlay Ferguson (rise.), Axel Touret (Vatira) and Joe Young (Joyo). Moist Esports finished the year with 3,734 points, which put them more than 100 points above the second place club, Team BDS.
Moist Esports has first place finishes at RLCS Spring Split Major on July 3 and RLCS Spring, EU Regional Event 3 – Super 16.
NRG
NRG finished the year as the No. 3 team in North America with 2,932 points. The roster of NRG is Garrett Gordon (GarrettG), Justin Morales (jstn.), Mariano Arruda (SquishyMuffinz), Wyatt (musty), and Emiliano Benny (Sizz), who also serves as the team’s coach.
Falcons
Team Falcons represent the Middle East and North Africa. The team finished first there with 4,279 points, which was by far the highest point total of any team. The runner-up in the Middle East and North Africa was Veloce Esports with 2,140 points.
The team has three members on its active roster, Ahmad Abdullah (Ahmad), Khalid Qasim (oKhaliD), and Mohammed Alotaibi (trk511). Team Falcons won three RLCS Spring events and had a runner-up finish at the Spring Major.
Our pick
I expect a rematch of the Spring Major in the 2022 Rocket League World Championship Finals between Moist Esports and Falcons. I don’t think the outcome of that matchup will change. With that, I expect Moist Esports to leave Fort Worth with the 2022 Rocket League World Championship title.
Pick: Moist Esports to win the 2022 Rocket League World Championship.
