Talon Esports

The members of Talon Esports came together in October 2022. In their first event as a team in a big international event, Talon finished in the 5th-8th position at the VCT LOCK//IN event in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The squad made it to the quarterfinals of that event with shutout wins over MIBR and Evil Geniuses. Talon was a long shot to win the event at +15000 and both the teams they defeated had shorter odds of winning.

With the experience Talon Esports picked up during the Sao Paulo event, they will be a tough team to beat in Seoul.

Paper Rex

Hailing from Singapore, Paper Rex has quickly climbed the international ladder. In 2021, the team only qualified for one international event. Paper Rex qualified for every international event the following year and managed a second-place finish at the VCT Stage 2: Masters Copenhagen.

The majority of this team has been together since 2021 with the newest member, CigaretteS, joining the squad in October 2022.

Paper Rex could have had a better event at LOCK//IN in Sao Paolo, as Cloud9 eliminated them in the first round.

DRX

The South Korean team, DRX, broke out in 2022 when they placed in the 5th-6th spot at the Valorant Champions 2022 event in Istanbul. The team has been together since the beginning of January, outside of Foxy9, who joined the squad in October.

DRX were in the mix as far as the odds were concerned entering the LOCK//IN event in Sao Paulo and the team went very deep in that event, finishing in the 3rd-4th spot while giving eventual runner-up LOUD a tough matchup in the semi-final round.
