Team Liquid

Team Liquid is a European club based out of the Netherlands. They are also the team to watch heading into the 2023 Lima Major. The team is coming off a 7-0 winning performance at the recent DPC WEU 2023 online event. Team Liquid closed out 2022 with a third-place finish at The International 2022 event, finishing behind Team Secret and Tundra Esports.

The majority of this team, Insania, Boxi and miCKe have been together since 2019. Zai joined Team Liquid in 2021 and the most recent addition was Nisha, who came on in December 2022 after coach JerAx left the team.

Tundra Esports

Another European team, Tundra Esports, which is based out of the United Kingdom, is also in the mix to win the 2023 Dota 2 Lima Major. The winners of The International 2022 event, Tundra Esports took third place in the recent DPC WEU 2023 tournament with a 4-3 record.

Tundra Esports has been working together as a complete unit since the end of February 2022. The team consists of skiter, Nine, 33, Saksa and Sneyking.

BetBoom Team

Of the top three teams in the 2023 Dota 2 Lima Major, the only club to hail from Eastern Europe is BetBoom Team. Like Team Liquid, BetBoom qualified for the Lima Major with a perfect 7-0 run in their DPC EEU 2023 qualifying event. However, BetBoom had a disappointing 19th-20th place finish at The International 2022.

BetBoom is a powerhouse in Eastern Europe, but the team struggles in bigger competitions that have deeper talent pools.

The version of BetBoom that competes in Lima came together in December 2022. The team is made up of Pure, gpk, Nightfall, Save- and TORONTOTOKYO.
