Intel Extreme Masters Season Betting Picks

The Intel Extreme Masters Fall CIS Esports Group Stages are now in full flow, with the 12 remaining teams competing for the $50,000 prize pot.

The competition is Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS:GO). It’s a short and sweet tournament, it started on Wednesday, September 29th, and runs until Sunday, October 3rd.

Intel Extreme Masters Format

The teams are split into two groups of six. The top two from each group go through to the playoffs, with the two third-placed teams competing in a 5th place playoff match.

With double round-robin used, matches come thick and fast. So let’s take a look at Thursday’s action and bring you some Esports picks.

Natus Vincere v Entropiq Betting Pick

  • Date – September 30th
  • Time – 7.15am ET

Ukraine’s Natus Vincere may have exited the recent Blast Premier Series at the group stages, but they are serious contenders here.

Natus Vincere v Entropiq Handicap BettingBetUSMyBookie
Natus -5.5+100-110
Entropiq +5.5-137-100

In one of the two opening matches on Thursday, Na’Vi is -450 to beat Entropiq, who is +300.

Both these sides won their opening matches on Wednesday. Na’Vi defeated AVE 16-12, while Entropiq were 16-13 victors over Akuma.

I expect to see Kirill Mikhailov start the day with a win, and I also believe his Na’Vi side will get one of the top two spots in Group A.

But with Na’Vi at -450, it’s worth looking at the other Moneylines available.

Na’Vi is +100 with a -5.5 round start. Entropiq is -137. I think Entropiq are the better value there, but with me also believing they will lose, I’m not picking that.

Instead, I’m going with over 26.5 rounds at +100. Under 26.5 is the betting favorite at -137

I’m expecting this match to be a close one though, and as a result, there will be plenty of rounds fought out.

So I’m going for Over 26.5 rounds on the Total Rounds spread as my first Esports betting pick of the day.

Team Spirit v AVE Betting Pick

  • Date – September 30th
  • Time – 7.15am ET

Also in action early on Day 2 are Team Spirit and AVE.

Team Spirit got off to an absolute flyer on Wednesday, defeating both Akuma and Nemiga Gaming, both by 16 legs to 4.

Team Spirit is -400 with MyBookie to win their opening match-up on Day 2 of the event, with opponents AVE +275.

On Day 1, AVE lost both of their matches. While they weren’t completely outplayed, they never looked like winning either.

AVE lost their first fixture of the day 16-12 to Na’Vi, and followed that up with a closer 16-13 defeat at the hands of Entropiq.

Form like that doesn’t suggest they will upset the odds. And with opponents Team Spirit, finishing Day 1 with an aggregate score of 32-8 from their two wins, I can only predict one winner here.

A Moneyline price of -400 on Team Spirit isn’t great, so looking at the handicap spread I can see that with a -4.5 legs start, Team Spirit is -125.

Even though AVE beat that spread in both of their Wednesday defeats, I still think with the form shown by Team Spirit on Wednesday that this represents good value.

Therefore my second Esports betting pick of the day is Team Spirit to beat AVE on the handicap.

Team Spirit v Entropiq Betting Pick

  • Date – September 30th
  • Time – 9.45am ET

Later on in the day, Team Spirit is in action in a far more competitive-looking match against Entropiq.

The top sportsbooks have the betting in this one far closer. Team Spirit is -150, while Entropiq is the slight outsiders at +110.

In the handicap market, the spread is +2.5 rounds in favor of Entropiq

At -2.5 start, Team Spirit is -110, while starting from +2.5, Entropiq is -125.

I’m expecting this to be a close match, so with that in mind, I’m ignoring the match winners market and looking at the Total Rounds.

The Total Rounds Spread is set at 26.5, and I think over 26.5 has a great chance here.

So at odds of -137 my next Esports pick is Over 26.5 rounds in the match between Team Spirit and Entropiq.

Natus Vincere v Team Spirit Betting Pick

  • Date – October 1st
  • Time – 9.45am ET

We have to wait another 24 hours to see the big showdown between these two teams. And with matches between the time of writing, and this fixture, form and betting lines may have changed.

When there is any uncertainty with betting, play safe! So for this match, I would recommend using a betting bonus.

So with the lecture over, let’s get down to picks!

Natus is -285 to win, that’s surprisingly short to me. Team Spirit is +230, and while a value bet, I’m not convinced they will win, so I’m not backing them.

Over 26.5 on the Total Rounds spread looks a better bet to me, and at odds of -137, is my final Esports betting pick of the day!
