It remains a dead heat atop the League of Legends – LCS standings, with TSM sitting alongside 100 Thieves with identical 21-9 win-loss records. But with the LOL season quickly approaching the home stretch, it is 100 Thieves that lead the way to emerge as this season’s champions, perched as +175 on the eSports futures at Bovada.

Tight Race Atop the Standings
With four teams still standing as viable challengers for the top of the standings, it is shaping up to be an exciting end to the League of Legends – LCS summer season. While TSM and 100 Thieves remain deadlocked at 21-9, two teams lag by just two games, with Cloud9 and Team Liquid both sporting 19-11 records. That makes it critical for eSports bettors to manage their bankroll effectively.

100 Thieves have climbed to the top of the standings with an impressive run. The club closes out June riding a five-match win streak, and have claimed victory in 10 of their past 11 overall. They are poised to further pad that record, with three of their first four outings in the month of July coming against the bottom three teams in the standings. In addition, three dates against TSM and Team Liquid during the first half of July could prove pivotal to the club’s chances of claiming this year’s crown.
TSM Faces Tough Grind
Things have not quite as well for TSM in recent weeks. Team SoloMid enters July on a steady 6-1 run, capped by a pivotal 1-0 win over team Liquid to open the summer session. However, they blew a huge opportunity to put some distance between themselves and 100 Thieves by dropping a 1-0 decision to their chief rivals earlier this month. That is not a trend they can afford to extend, with five of the final 15 contests on their schedule coming against teams current among the top four in the standings. TSM’s hard grind down the stretch is reflected on the odds board, with the club lagging behind 100 Thieves as a +225 bet to claim this year’s title.

However, neither TSM nor 100 Thieves should face any concerns being among the final eight qualifiers for playoff action. Currently 10 teams are from the North American top-tier circuit are battling it out in a triple round-robin summer season, with the top eight clubs qualifying for the postseason. Four of the 10 competing clubs currently sport losing records, and should make for easy pickins for the elite squads.
Team Liquid Wilting Against Top-Flight Opponents
When talking about the elite of the LOL – LCS, the conversation must include both Cloud9 and Team Liquid. A threat to win every night, Cloud9 have claimed the crown in five of 10 tournament appearances since October 2019. And while they lag two games back in the standings, they continue to sit alongside TSM as a solid +225 bet. It has been much more of a feast or famine existence for Team Liquid since late 2019, with the club claiming tournament wins ion four of 10 appearances, but also finishing outside the top eight on three occasions during that stretch.

Liquid have also struggled with inconsistency in recent outings, posting wins in just seven of their past 13. That trend becomes particularly worrisome considering they have compiled a dismal 1-6 record in their past seven combined meetings with TSM, 100 Thieves, and Cloud9. That takes considerable shine off team Liquid’s otherwise attractive +400 to come out of the summer atop the standings.
Don’t Sleep on Evil Geniuses
Considering how dominant the top four clubs have been this season, it is tough to find batting value among the teams current sitting on the bottom half of the standings. But for sports bettors who are not faint of heart, Evil Geniuses are worthy for consideration to place a bet, sporting +2000 odds at Bovada.

The club turned in a dominating performance while knocking off TSM in Week 1 action, outpacing the league leaders in kills by a wide 19-4 margin to improve to 4-2 in their past six overall matches. However, they will need to find a way to solve 100 Geniuses, whom they have dropped three straight to this season, and face two more times before their summer schedule comes to a close in August.
