Lewis Hamilton’s Next Grand Prix Win: Formula 1 Picks

  • Bovada favors Lewis Hamilton to finish the 2022 F1 season without a victory (-125)
  • The British driver’s 103 career wins is the most in Formula 1 history
  • The Belgian Grand Prix will take place at Spa-Francorchamps circuit on Sunday, August 28, 2022

Lewis Hamilton remains winless on the season and is viewed as an underdog betting pick at the 2022 Belgian Grand Prix. However, the seven-time world champion described himself as “fully transformed” after spending part of Formula 1’s summer break traveling through Africa.

With nice races still left to go, will the 37-year-old Brit cross the finish line in first place this year? Before we check Hamilton’s odds of winning a race, here’s where you can find the top betting sites for Formula 1 in 2022.

Hamilton favored to remain winless

Lewis Hamilton’s 103 victories is the most in Formula 1 history – so it’s a bit surprising to see him as a -125 favorite to finish the season without a win. However, Max Verstappen left oddsmakers little choice after placing first in eight of 13 races this season. The Red Bull driver’s dominance in 2022 leaves little room for Hamilton atop the podium. He also has to worry about Charles Leclerc, who has three wins on the year despite a never-ending string of blunders by his Ferrari team.

The bull case for Hamilton

While Mercedes had an awful start to the campaign, they have now placed both of its cars on the podium in consecutive races. Hamilton has also finished ahead of his teammate George Russell in five-straight events after placing behind him in seven races in a row.

The seven-time world champion has captured five-consecutive podiums – the longest active streak in F1. With the porpoising issues that plagued the Silver Arrows earlier this season now behind them, Hamilton finally has a car that can compete with Red Bull. The first test will come at the Belgian GP (+650), where the British racing legend has four career wins.

Opportunities ahead

If Hamilton fails to top the podium at Spa-Francorchamps circuit this Sunday, his next opportunity for victory will be at the Dutch GP (+900), one of the few races he’s never won. Why? Well, there were no Formula 1 event’s in the Netherlands from 1986 to 2020.

Therefore, the Italian GP (+1100) might be a better bet for the Brit. Hamilton’s captured the checkered flag at Monza on five separate occasions, but not since 2018.

As for the remaining events on the calendar, Hamilton has four career triumphs at the Singapore GP (+1200), five wins at the Japanese GP (+1400), six at the United States GP (+1400), two at the Mexican GP (+1600), three at the Brazilian GP (+1800), where he won in 2021, and five victories at the Abu Dhabi GP (+2000).

Best Bet

Even with Verstappen’s brilliance this season, we wouldn’t advise betting Hamilton to get shutout this year at -125. With the improvements to Mercedes’ car, the seven-time drivers’ champion should get on the board in the season’s final nine races. And where better than in the United States GP (+1400), where he’s won six times previously.
