Verstappen closing the gap?
Oscar Piastri (+185) was overtaken by Max Verstappen (+300) on the opening lap at Imola, ending his three-race winning streak with a third-place finish. The 24-year-old Australian still enjoys a 13-point lead over teammate Lando Norris (+225) in the drivers’ standings. McLaren has also captured five of the seven GPs this season, but do they have reason to worry about the reemergence of Mad Max?
Following improvements to the car, Verstappen led all 63 laps of the Emilia-Romagna GP as Red Bull Racing celebrated its milestone 400th race win. The question is whether the reigning champion’s second victory of the campaign will be another blip on the radar or a new trend?

Poll position is crucial
Saturday’s qualifying holds extra importance as overtaking at the incredibly narrow Circuit de Monaco is much harder than your average F1 event. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc (+600) took poll position before winning his hometown race in 2024. Piastri also performed well in Monaco last year, crossing the line in second place.
Verstappen has two career victories in Monaco. The Dutchman won the 2023 race after capturing pole position, but did not hold the pole when he picked up his first career win in Monte Carlo in 2021. The four-time champion has claimed three of seven poles this season.
Lucky longshots
George Russell (+1600) struggled at the Emilia Romagna GP, but the Englishman has still made four trips to the podium in seven events this year. Mercedes maintains a 16-point edge on Red Bull in the constructors standings, 132 points back of first-place McLaren.
Lewis Hamilton (+2200) has three career victories in Monaco but none since 2019. The seven-time world champion still has gas in the tank at 40 years of age. Last Sunday in Italy, he recovered from 12th on the grid to finish fourth in his first race for Ferrari in Italy.
Yes!!! Brilliant weekend 🙌 Incredibly proud of everyone @redbullracing, celebrating the 400th race of the team with this win 💪 pic.twitter.com/8oCFwzzhB3

Best Bet
Unlike last year’s wide-open F1 season that saw seven different drivers claim checkered flags, this year seems poised to be dominated by Piastri, Norris and Verstappen.
Riding a wave of momentum after picking up his second win of the year last weekend, we’ll take Verstappen (+300) to capture his third-career victory at the Monaco GP.
