The Nationals will send Doug Fister to the mountain with his 11-3 record and a 2.49 ERA, in the season; he will try to lead his team to win number 64.

“It’s no coincidence that I feel like a lot of runs get scored when Doug pitches,” teammate Adam LaRoche said. “I think it’s a matter of really quick innings. He’s pitching to contact, guys are on their toes, and there’s a lot of action. Seems like when he’s pitching, we’re out there for 30 minutes on defense and spend two hours in the dugout.”

Washington needs to take this series against NY Mets seriously, after they lost two of the three games against the Atlanta Braves during the weekend.

The NY Mets will have Rafael Montero as their starting pitcher; the Dominican is 0-2 in four starts this seasons with a 5.40 ERA.

“We wouldn’t bring (Montero) up for just one start,” manager Terry Collins told MLB’s official website. “He’ll make two (starts). All he has to do is be himself and throw strikes.

“He’s a strike-throwing machine. The first time he was here, he nibbled. If he’s himself, throwing strikes, he’s real good.”

No baseball betting lines out for this game, yet, but it’s pretty clear you have to take Fister and the Nationals.
