Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder want to give the Los Angeles Lakers a heads up sending a message about who is the team to beat in the Western conference; they clash this Thursday night at 10:30 PM ET at the Staples Center.
The visit will not only be another chapter in what could be a fun rivalry between Durant and Kobe Bryant, but it also will be the first time Derek Fisher plays at the Staple Center with his new squad against his old buddies.
“I think that I was surprised by it, but since then I’ve very much realized that it’s not so much about what went wrong, and why it happened but more so where I’m going next, and the next chapter of my life,” Fisher said.
Currently, the Lakers are seven games behind the Thunder in the West, but since Ramon Sessions (Fisher’s replacement) entered the lineup, Los Angeles have won three of the last four and eight of the last 11 matches, meaning they are making a move to climb in the westerns conference standings.
The Lakers beat the Golden State Warrior 104-101 in their most recent outing on the road, but they failed to cover the 8-point spread as favorites.
Oklahoma beat the Trail Blazers 109-95 on March 27; it was their fifth victory in a row. However, the Oddsmakers currently have the Lakers listed as 1-point favorites versus the Thunder; the game total is at 200½.
The trends mention the LA Lakers are 11-1 SU in their last 12 games when playing at home against Oklahoma City, and 9-1 when they play on a Thursday night this season.
