NBA Season Opener – Celtics vs Heat Betting Preview

Bad blood season opener in the NBA this Tuesday as the Celtics and the Heat meet at the American Airlines Arena at 8:00 PM ET.

Miami is a six point favorites in the NBA Odds, but expect the Celtics to fight, especially knowing Ray Allen is now with the enemy.

“It was really bitter the way the season ended last year,” Celtics captain Paul Pierce said of Miami’s 101-88 win in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals. “We know it’s going to be like a playoff, you’ve got two rivals going out there — expect it to be like a playoff atmosphere.

“Game 7 in Miami, we had two opportunities to advance to the NBA Finals – that’s still in the back of our minds. So, we’re going to go down there and really try to make a statement”.

Ray Allen thinks the situation is not on his mind. He is now a Heat player and that’s basically it.

“Any team that I went back to [play], I never was emotional,” said Allen, who also played in Milwaukee and Seattle.

“It’s always great to be back. On average, the three teams I’ve been with before here, it’s been four-plus years. You spend time in a place and the community is yours. At this point, I’m not emotional. I look more at the bigger picture because you’re excited about your future with that team”.

“I don’t (feel 100 percent),” Allen said. “I don’t, but it’s rare that I do. I always feel like I go as the team goes. Leg-wise, I’m still getting into that form. That’s something that over the next couple weeks I get better and better at”.
