The San Antonio Spurs haven’t looked as ‘the San Antonio Spurs’ in the two games of the first round playoff series against the Dallas Mavericks; now they are obligated to win when they meet this Saturday at 4:30 PM ET at the American Airlines Center, in game three.
The series has been based on what the Mavs give to the Spurs star Tony Parker, either many shots in the paint as in game 1 one, or none at all just as in game two. “I felt like I was doing good but at the same time I wanted to get my teammates involved,” Parker said. “Pop told me if I have to shoot 25 times, I have to shoot 25 times if that’s what they’re going to give me.”
The Mavs had lost 10 games in a row against the Spurs before winning game two to even the series. Point guard Devin Harris has been outstanding containing Parker; perhaps he’s the x factor so far.
“It’s why I wanted to come back, to be in this type of situation and play in these types of games and be in this type of series,” Harris said. “It’s perfect.”
The San Antonio Spurs are 3.5 point favorites despite playing away from home. Dallas is 1-7 ATS in its last 8 games when playing at home against San Antonio.
The game total is at 200.5. The total has gone OVER in 5 of Dallas’s last 6 games when playing at home against San Antonio.
