Michigan-State-SpartansThe Michigan Stage Spartans, one of the top contenders to end with one of the playoffs spots at the end of the season, will start their journey against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks, this Friday night at 7:30 PM ET at Spartan Stadium.

The College Football betting odds for this Friday Night game listed the Spartans as 32.5 point favorites.  If you want to bet the money line, Michigan is listed -3300 while the victory by the small Jacksonville State is +550.

The Spartans best asset was their defense, which was third best in the nation in points against, allowing less than two touchdowns per game.

“We had one of the top defenses in America last year with the rules as they are,” Spartans head coach Mark Dantonio said. “I do think people tend to get hurt when they’re tired. But you’ve got to sub them out and figure out some way to do that.”

“We’ve got certain guys playing new positions,” Dantonio said. “You basically want to see guys bend their knees and play in space and tackle and play the ball in the deep part of the field. There are certain things you can do schematically. Then, it comes down to making plays.”

No one is expecting an upset here; most people think is a blow pout that will set the tone for the Spartans upcoming games.  Keep in mind Michigan State is 5-11 ATS in its last 16 games at home.
