EverettGolsonAfter a bye week, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will try to remain unbeaten this season when they face the Syracuse Orange on Saturday, September 27th at Metlife Stadium, 8 PM ET.

They have played six games, and each has won three, the last was six years ago, and Syracuse took the victory by one point (24-23). Both teams will be looking for their first win in the New York venue.

It will be the third game of Syracuse at MetLife Stadium, in the past two they lost to Southern California and Penn State. The Orange could suffer their third straight loss in the Big Apple as Notre Dame is favorite BY -10 points, and the game total is rated at 51.

The eight ranked Irish have scored at least 30 points in each game this season and will be looking for the fourth straight for the first time since 1943. Quarterback Everett Golson has run and passed for 11 touchdowns and has not had any passes intercepted.

The team manages by coach Scott Shafer will be led by quarterback Terrel Hunt, who this season has thrown 488 yards and one touchdown while on the ground has 273 yards and five visits to the end zone. It will be a tough game for Hunt as the Irish are the 24th defense in yards allowed at 315.3 yards per game.

The Orange hasn’t faced an offense like Notre Dame’s. Syracuse will need a lot of points and a lot of luck if they want to get an upset. The Irish need to focus in this game and then start thinking in the match against Stanford on October 4th.
