NFL Week 4 Preview – NFC North rivals Vikings vs Lions

There is no Word out yet to know if Mathew Stafford will be on the field on Sunday, but the Vikings will seek for their second win of the season with or without facing Stafford Ford Field, Sunday at 1 PM ET.

Minnesota looked surprisingly enjoyable beating the 49ers in a tremendous game last week. Christian Ponder played arguably his best games of his short NFL career.

“The more plays I get, the more film I watch, it slows down, and I just feel so much more comfortable in what I’m doing,” said Ponder, who also ran for a score. “And it helps when the players around you are playing so well”.

To help Pounder, Adrian Peterson has already 230 rushing yards in the season despite recovering from a from a knee injury. Also, the Vikes finally will have wideout Jerome Simpson this week. “We want to utilize his talents as soon as possible,” coach Leslie Frazier said. “He’s chomping at the bit to get out there and help us, but we want to get him integrated right away”.

For Detroit, the story is simple. Who will be the starter for this game. “We’ll see how (Stafford) progresses through this week,” coach Jim Schwartz said Monday. “Friday we’ll make a determination what that availability is — same as every team does”.

The Lions have won two in a row at home versus Minnesota after losing seven of eight. However, consider Detroit is 0-5 ATS in its last 5 games.
