The New Orleans Saints and the Houston Texans are both 2-0 in this preseason; they meet this Sunday at 4 PM ET at Reliant Stadium in an interesting matchup.
The Saints have pressured all quarterbacks since Rob Ryan became the offensive coordinator. He wants to make every quarterback they face a vivid hell. Having said that, defensive lineman Glenn Foster has impressed the coaches during the preseason.
“Definitely,” said Foster, who also has been credited with three quarterback hits and a forced fumble during the first two games of the preseason.. “Whenever a free agent or anyone comes out and shows out like that, you always feel confident going into the next game that you can do more.”
“He’s playing exceptionally well,” Payton said. “When you get a player who comes in a rookie class as an undrafted free agent and is playing like he is and well enough to make the team; that’s a good deal. He is very consistent, explosive. “He was a player, after the draft that a handful of teams were interested in and fortunately for us we were able to get him.”
The Texans received some bad news this weekend as defensive end Antonio Smith won’t be for the season opener against the Chargers after he hit Miami guard Richie Incognito with the Dolphins player’s helmet.
“I’m disappointed in myself because I’ve got to make sure that my players keep their composure on the football field. That’s my job,” Houston coach Gary Kubiak said. “They’ve got a job when they get out there to maintain their composure regardless of circumstances. There are no excuses. We can’t hurt the team, and I talk to our guys about that all the time. If someone is going to miss some time, that hurts the team.”
The Texans are 3 points favorites for this matchup. The game total is set at 44.
