49ers2The San Francisco 49ers have scored three points in two preseason games; they will try to do better in week three against the San Diego Chargers, this Sunday at 2 PM ET at Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, California.

The 49ers are 0-2 and lost 23-3 against the Baltimore Ravens and 34-0 against the Denver Broncos.  Their offense needs to wake up.

This week San Francisco revealed QB Colin Kaepernick played with a foot injury in the 2013 season.

“It was something that was always there,” Kaepernick said. “Never spoke about it, never said anything about it because you’re a football player, you play through pain. Unless you’re being carted off, you should be on the field. If it’s something you can play through, that’s what you do.”

San Diego is 1-1 in the preseason, but needs to bounce back after they were dismantled by the Seattle Seahawks last week; their run defense is a concern.

“We’ve got to do a better job in my opinion against the run,” Chargers head coach Mike McCoy said. “We gave up too much at times. But there were times where it was outstanding. The first play of the game is a perfect example. When everyone is sound in their technique, gap responsible, doing it the right way and doing certain things.

The NFL Preseason Betting odds for week 3 listed the 49ers as five-point favorites and the game total was set at 42 points.
