The Anaheim Ducks will host the Columbus Blue Jackets who will try to challenge the home team to make a hunt for the 8th seed in the Western conference playoffs. The game is this Wednesday at 10 PM ET at Honda Center.
The Ducks average 2.83 goals per game, and they seem a little worried about the fact that the goals are not getting to the net. “Nobody is scoring any goals,” coach Bruce Boudreau said. “Just look at the numbers of guys that haven’t scored in a long time now.”
Anaheim lost to the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 in the last encounter and now LA is getting mighty close to the top of the division.
“We’ve got to get back to winning,” Boudreau said. “We want to start to get back to playing our best hockey by the time the playoffs start, and we’ve got to do that with a couple of wins. All of a sudden our sense of urgency has picked up, so we’ll get back to practicing.”
The Jackets have the same amount of point as Detroit in the fight for the 8th seed, and they can use a win against the Ducks. “We’re finding ways,” coach Todd Richards said. “That’s what you have to do this time of year.”
Columbus and Anaheim have faced each other twice this season, with one win for each. Both games ended with one goal difference result.
