A POSSIBLE REMATCH?
Price was the third seed for the 2021 tournament. His victory marked the first time a Welsh player won the World Championship, but his road to victory was not an easy one. In order to get to the fourth round, Price defeated Jamie Lewis in a last set decider and Brendan Dolan in a sudden death last leg decider. He then defeated Mervyn King before topping Daryl Gurney last leg decider before topping Stephen Bunting 6-4 to earn his way to the final.
Anderson was the No. 13 seed heading into the 2021 World Championship. Outside of a 4-3 win over Mensur Suljovic, Anderson did not struggle to much to make the final.

OTHER TOP CONTENDERS
Peter Wright has two World Championships to his name, winning the crown in 2014 and 2020. According to SportsBetting AG, he has just as much of a chance as Price to win the 2022 title. The 51-year-old is listed at +500. He fell in the third round in 2021.
The 32-year-old Michael van Gerwen is a player who is also in the mix. The Dutch player had a long run as the No. 1 ranked darts player in the world. He held that spot from 2014 through 2021 and he is a three time world title winner, capturing that crown in 2014, 2017 and 2019. Van Gerwen was the runner-up in 2020 to Wright. Bovada has Van Gerwen at +400.
A RISING STAR
Dimitri Van den Bergh is one of the young players to keep an eye on. Just 27, he broke into the PDC Order of Merit in 2016. He made the quarter-finals of the World Darts Championship in 2018 and 2020. In 2021, Van den Bergh was bounced in the fourth round. BetOnline has him at +900 to win in 2022.
