As of this writing, Michael van Gerwen is in first place with 14 total points, including two wins. Trailing close behind are Peter Wright with 12 points and Jonny Clayton in third with 10 points.
Below, MTS breaks down what to look for from each competitor on Night Seven and who will prevail in each of the quarterfinal matchups.

First Matchup Spotlight
What to look for from James Wade
A consistent competitor from England, Wade currently sits in seventh place in the Premier League Darts standings. In his Night Six matchup against Michael Smith, he barely fell in the opening round with a score of 102.63 to Smith’s 102.92. He will be looking to replicate his performance from Night Three earlier this season when he reached the final round but fell to Gerwyn Price, 105.36 to 99.91.
What to look for from Peter Wright
Wright is coming off an uneven performance during Night Six of the season when he reached the semi-finals but was outmatched by Gary Anderson, 101.88 to 95.33. After starting this year with a Night One victory, he has managed to lock down some firm footing in the standings with 12 points overall.
Prediction: Wright has advanced past the quarter-final stage in four of the six nights of the season, so look for more of the same here.
Second Matchup Spotlight
What to look for from Joe Cullen
Cullen currently sits at the bottom of the Premier League standings, but he has an opportunity to bounce back in a big way on Night Seven. After Gerwyn Price withdrew due to a hand injury on Night Five of the season, Cullen advanced to his second semi-final of the year. While he has had a rough year for his standards, he is also coming off of a nail-biting loss to Peter Wright on Night Six earlier this month, 87.02 to 86.30.
What to look for from Gary Anderson
Anderson was able to lock down the victory on Night Six of the Premier League season and is riding a wave momentum heading into this week’s slate of contests. While he has had a slower start to the year, Anderson is trying to make up for lost time after his latest victory. With his matchup against Cullen, it will be the first time the two are squaring off this year.
Prediction: Anderson has the hot hand at this point in the season so expect more of the same as he will advance out of the first round.
Third Matchup Spotlight
What to look for from Gerwyn Price
A fan favorite, Price is teetering right on the edge of the top four in the Premier League standings. One of the best players in the world, Price has only won one event (Night Three) during this edition of the Premier League Darts season. He will be looking to make some more later this week in his first matchup this year with Clayton.
What to look for from Jonny Clayton
After back-to-back finals appearances to start the season, including a win on Night Two over Joe Cullen, Clayton will be looking to return to form on Thursday. The reigning Premier League Darts champion, he has a lot of firepower at his disposal to overcome any opponent. Perhaps this is the night he puts it all back together? We will find out.
Prediction: This is perhaps the closest matchup of the quarterfinals, but look for Price to get back on the right track against his old rival Clayton.
Final Matchup Spotlight
What to look for from Michael Smith
After advancing to the last final round on Nights Five and Six, Smith has had a strong showing as of late. Though he came up short to van Gerwen on Night Five (103.89 to 100.61) and Anderson on Night Six, he has the ability to tangle with anyone on the circuit.
What to look for from Michael van Gerwen
The Night Five winner, van Gerwen currently sits atop the Premier League Darts standings and is one of the finest players in the world. A virtual lock to win many contests, he is a strong pick to always make it out of the quarter-final stages.
Prediction: With van Gerwen advancing out of the initial stages of four of the last six nights, it would be wise to go with what you know and tap van Gerwen as your pick.
