The loser between Uruguay and England can kiss their World Cup dreams goodbye after both started the 2014 Brazil tournament with two losses; Uruguayans and Englishmen clash this Thursday June 19 at the Porto Alegre stadium, in a match for group C.
Uruguay lost 3-1 against Costa Rica on their debut in the competition, and has been so far, one of the disappointments of the first few games. They didn’t show much during the match and seemed as they underestimated the ‘Ticos’; they looked flat out unprepared.
The good news for Uruguay is striker Luiz Suarez declared himself 100% fit to play against England after he missed the match against Costa Rica; Suarez was great in 2010, but his development as a player has been remarkable; this past season he scored 31 goals in the English Premier League in 35 games; not one from the penalty spot.
If Suarez shows a similar form as he had in the EPL, then England could be in serious problems.
England’s defeat came against Italy in Manaus; a 2-1 result in favor of the Italians was perhaps, the only game the Roy Hudgson’s team was allowed to lose. Against Uruguay, they’ll be forced to have a better game, and now they have been advised Costa Rica can be dangerous.
The World Cup betting odds for this game have England as the slight favorite paying their win +120 in the money line while Uruguay is listed +270, and the draw was set at +250.
