West Brom (+1250) at Tottenham (-500), Draw (+525)
Four matches: that’s how many games Tottenham Hotspur have left in this Premier League season. Five points: that’s all that separates second-place Tottenham from league-leading Leicester City.
Spurs will look to inch closer to the leaders this Monday when they host West Brom at White Hart Lane (3:00 PM Eastern).
With their game on Monday, Spurs will have the luxury of knowing the result of Leicester’s weekend clash with Swansea. Last week, Tottenham entered their game against Stoke City knowing Leicester left points on the board by drawing 2-2 with West Ham at home.
Spurs took advantage by smashing the Potters 4-0 and cutting the Foxes’ lead to five.
Tottenham are now on a two-game winning streak, having routed Man United 3-0 the game before. They are also undefeated in six straight.
Playing at White Hart Lane has been good for Tottenham. They have won five of their last six home games, with a draw against Arsenal sprinkled in, and average 1.9 goals per game at White Hart Lane (second only to Man City).
West Brom are one of six teams within two points of each other in the middle of the table. They could have separated from that pack but have dropped four of their last five games, including two straight shutouts at the hands of Watford and Arsenal.
The Baggies’ 40 points put them 15th in the standings and they’ll be hard-pressed to climb into the top-ten by season’s end. But at least they should be safe from relegation, holding a ten point lead over 18th place Sunderland.
These two teams drew 1-1 in their first meeting of the season in December. Tottenham are the better side now, and they won’t let slip their title hopes by losing points to a struggling West Brom.
Pick: Spurs (-500).
