West Brom (+310)vs. Chelsea (+100) (Draw +250)
Chelsea have already clinched the English Premier League title; now, Jose Mourinho’s team will look to sweep the season series against West Brom when they meet today at The Hawthorns Stadium (3:00 PM Eastern Time).
Mourinho’s squad has an insurmountable 11-point lead at the top of the EPL table with just two matches remaining. The league title is the fifth in the club’s history and the first since the 2009-10 season.
Chelsea can largely thank their stellar performance away from home this year for the title; the Blues went 11-5-2 on the road, scoring 37 goals and allowing just 20. Indeed, the team hasn’t lost away from home since January 1st against Tottenham, going 6-1-0 in that span.
Mourinho was all praise for his young yet dominant team.
“I like my squad very, very much. It’s a young squad with space to improve. And I’m in a different position to last season. Then, I was more than keen for my club to sell some players and in this moment I’m very, very happy to keep my players”, the manager told ESPN FC.
West Brom, meanwhile, are well down in the table but safe from relegation, sitting 13th with 41 points (seven up on 18th-place Hull City).
Playing at home hasn’t been all that beneficial for the Baggies, who have a subpar 6-4-8 record at The Hawthorns. The Baggies are currently riding a three-game home winless streak, drawing Liverpool and losing to Leicester and QPR.
The home fans haven’t been treated to many goals, either, with West Brom mustering just 21 tallies in their 18 home games (while surrendering 26).
The one bright spot of late was a 1-0 road win over Man United, which came two weeks ago. But don’t expect the Baggies to surprise Chelsea in the same manner, even though the Blues have little left to play for.
Pick: Chelsea +100.
