Colombia smashed Greece 3-0 and looked great after not participating in the World Cup for 16 years; they didn’t miss striker Radamel Falcao, who lost the tournament due to an injury, but they might miss him against Ivory Coast, who is a little stronger that the Greeks in the offensive side.

Coach Jose Pekerman might need at better performance from midfield James Rodriguez, who didn’t look good against Greece, even though he managed to get a goal.

Colombia’s only win against an African team in the World Cup was against Tunisia in 1998; however, one of their most painful losses in the competition was recorded by Cameroon in 1990 at the round of 16.

Ivory Coast was able to beat Japan 2-1 despite starting the game 1-0 down; star player Didier Drogba entered the game in the second half and changed the course of the game with his determination and speed up front.

Ivory Coast hasn’t won against South American teams in two presentations; they lost against Brazil four years ago at South Africa, and failed to beat Argentina in Germany 2006.
