Returning to its traditional post-Masters spot on the schedule after serving as the second event in last year’s Return to Golf, the 2021 RBC Heritage Open welcomes five of the top ten golfers in the world.
Each will have to be on top of their game as the Harbour Town Golf Links course puts a premium on precision off the tee with some of the smallest greens on tour.

Dustin Johnson and Webb Simpson favored
The two favorites to win in South Carolina seem to be trending in opposite directions. Dustin Johnson (+1200) missed the cut at the Masters and hasn’t finished better than T-28 in the last four tournaments he’s entered. He has also never placed inside the top-15 in five career attempts at Hilton Head.
Meanwhile, Webb Simpson (+1200) is looking to become the first back-to-back champ at the RBC Heritage since Boo Weekley in 2007 and 2008 after setting a tournament record last June. He has finished top-16 at this event in four straight years and is coming off a respectable T-12 at last week’s Masters.

If you don’t mind the shorter odds, Simpson looks like the favorite to bet on, however, he’ll face stiff competition with each of the last eight RBC Heritage winners playing in the event, as well as almost half the field from last week’s Masters (42 of 88).
Best Bets at Hilton Head
If you’re looking for golfers who have experienced success at Hilton Head, Abraham Ancer (+2800) was runner-up in 2020 and is currently second in driving accuracy on the tour – something that is crucial to navigating this tight, tree-lined course. Ancer is still looking for his first tournament win, but it’s important to note that prior to Simpson’s victory, the previous four champions all made the RBC Heritage their maiden title.
Daniel Berger (+2200) and Tyrell Hatton (+2500) also finished just two shots back of the leader at 20-under last year, with Sergio Garcia (+3300) and Joaquin Niemann (+5000) rounding out the top five.

Matt Kuchar (+4000) is a strong bet. The 2014 Heritage champion finished runner-up in 2019 and fifth in 2015, and while he missed the cut at the Masters, he placed third at the Match Play and T-12 at the Valero Texas Open.
Finally, Ian Poulter (+6600) and Kevin Streelam (+8000) are appealing deep cuts. Streelman ranks a respectable 17th in greens in regulation and has three top tens and a T17 in his last seven trips to Harbour Town, while Poulter has top-20 finishes at the RBC Heritage in each of the past four years.
