Must-Make Betting Picks For 2023 PGA Pebble Beach Tourney

Golf greats once again descend on the Monterey Peninsula for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. This famed event starts Thursday, February 2. Before things get underway, you HAVE to read our betting breakdown of what’s ahead. You’ll also get out must-make betting picks to win at Pebble Beach in 2023!

Who Is Playing At The 2023 Pebble Beach Pro-Am?

Pebble Beach used to be one of the PGA’s most popular non-major events. But if we’re being honest, some of that luster has faded. That’s partially due to many players skipping out on playing in it, including in the 2023 edition of Pebble Beach. Competition fields have become less memorable, but that’s not to say the cup is bare this year. Many great players are suiting up for the four-day tourney.

In total, 23 players in the top 100 of the world rankings will compete. Seven of those are in the top 50 — Matt Fitzpatrick, Viktor Hovland, Jordan Spieth, Seamus Power, Tom Hoge, Kevin Kisner, and Kurt Kitayama. No no one’s surprise, many of those top-ranked players are most favored to win. Here’s a look at the current odds, as listed by the top betting sites for golf:

The Saudi International is also this weekend, which has attracted several top names in the PGA and LIV alike. Regardless, we think there’s money to be made betting on the Pebble Beach tourney, as well get to momentarily.

One more thing before we get to our picks, host duties will be split up per usual. Three courses — Spyglass Hill, Monterey Peninsula Country Club’s Shore, and the iconic Pebble Beach — will share in the weekend host duties. The reigning champion is Hoge, who outlasted Speith here a year ago. Dustin Johnson is the last golfer to go back-to-back victory-wise in 2010.

Best Bets To Win 2023 Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Par for the course with golf gambling, we’ll be making several bets for the 2023 Pebble Beach winner. We mean, did you see the betting odds above? They are LONG — even by golf standards. The favorite, Fitzpatrick, is as long as +1100. These types of odds give us the cushion to bet on at least three different players. With that said, here’s who those players will be:

Jordan Spieth

You could make a strong case that Pebble Beach is Spieth’s best tournament year in, year out. If you go through his career, it’s hard to argue otherwise. He has one win at Pebble Beach, coming back in 2017. Furthermore, he’s seemingly always in the thick of the competition. In 10 career starts at Pebble Beach, Spieth has six top-10 finishes. Better yet, he’s placed in the top-3 each of the last two years. Maybe it’s the pro-am format, but the best comes out of Spieth at this event. Therefore, we’re backing him with money.

Seamus Power

Seamus finished the 2022 calendar year on a strong note. In his previous seven starts, the Irishman earned a top-5 result on three occasions. One of those was an outright win at the Bermuda Championship at the end of October. Not only does Power have that going for him, but perhaps also the weather. Southern California has muggy weather this time of the year — which is right at home for Power, who grew up in similar conditions in Ireland. That little advantage could swing things in the favor of Power, and if so, we’ll have money on him, ready to capitalize!

Joel Dahmen

Here’s another sneaky betting pick. At +3300 odds, Dahmen is a nice “middle of the pack” choice. Like our previous two picks, Dahmen is no stranger to this event. In fact, he’s steadily improved at it in recent years. In 2022, he finished in sixth — which is his career-best at Pebble Beach. He also had a top-14 outing here in 2020. We’re taking him based on that trend, plus his value-rich odds!
