PGA Betting – FedEx Cup-date

You know what, Jordan Spieth? I’m not even worried you’ve missed the previous two cuts in the FedEx Playoffs. You deserve some time off! You’ve had a busy year. However, with the cut line removed for the final two playoff events, it’s probably time to get your act together. Otherwise, the number one ranking in golf, and the notoriety it would surely bring you, will stay with Rory McIlroy, or worse: go to Jason Day.

Day has been the best of the top-three so far, winning the Barclays before finishing 12th at the Deutsche Bank Championship. Day has the inside track to be first in points heading into the Tour Championship, when of course, the points will be redistributed, giving anyone in the top-five a reasonable chance at winning.

As it currently stands, the top-five consists of Day, Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Henrik Stenson, and Bubba Watson. McIlroy is way down the list in 17th, and could only make it into the top-five with a win at the BMW Championship in Chicago this weekend.

While the tournament this weekend won’t have a big impact on most of the players near the top of the points board, it’s a different story at the bottom. The likes of Louis Oothsuizen, Phil Mickelson, and our sleeper pick Chris Kirk will all be battling just to make it into the final weekend. But again, over the last two tournaments, we’ve seen Jordan Spieth miss both cuts, so we know crazy things can happen in golf.

That said, their chances aren’t great, as our odds for the BMW and the overall FedEx Cup show.

An avid NHL fan of over 20 years, Malloy made his first bet against a friend during the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals (going against Ray Bourque) and has been hooked ever since. He has yet to pay off that debt of $2, but he's made plenty back since. In between worrying about the league's next lockout, he regularly contributes to MTS and is also fluent in football, basketball, baseball and French (sort of).
