PGA Tour Odds – 2015 Midseason Props

The news that Rory McIlroy is out of the Open Championship has really opened the door for Jordan Spieth to become the face of the golf world with another strong performance at St. Andrews next week. After taking the first two majors of the year, Spieth’s chase for the Grand Slam will continue to dominate the story lines, along with the play of Tiger Woods.

Just when we were writing off the former undisputed number one of golf following a disastrous U.S. Open, he put in a strong showing at the Greenbrier to get people talking about another possible return to glory. While Tiger is still not a favorite, golf is always more interesting when Woods is around on a Sunday. But desperately behind in the FedEx Cup standings, he’ll need a few strong tournaments to extend his season past August. Not to mention, he’s still chasing Nicklaus’ all-time majors record. (He needs four to tie.)

McIlroy is hopeful he can return from injury to defend his PGA Championship next month. It would make for some high-stakes drama if his comeback were to go head-to-head with Spieth’s Grand Slam chase. But even if viewers don’t get that ideal scenario, there is still so much to follow as the golf year enters the stretch run.
