The Genesis Invitational returns to Riviera Golf Course in Pacific Palisades this weekend after a brief hiatus. The destructive forest fires in 2024 forced a temporary relocation of Southern California’s premier event. This year marks the 100th edition of what was first called the Los Angeles Open, and will be the second signature event of the PGA Tour season to date. Genesis Invitational Picks: Who do Sportsbooks Favor?
Scottie Scheffler is unsurprisingly sitting in pole position to win The Genesis Invitational, with top online sportsbooks significantly favoring him. The American is priced at just over 3/1 odds to win the tournament after multiple close finishes in recent weeks. Other top contenders include Rory McIlroy (+1200), Tommy Fleetwood (+2000), Hideki Matsuyama (+2200) and Xander Schauffele (+2200). The rest of the pack is lined at 28/1 or greater.

Can Tommy Fleetwood Win The Genesis Invitational?
Scottie Scheffler’s 18 consecutive top ten finishes should certainly strike fear in the hearts of all PGA players, but it’s difficult to see any value on Scheffler at the current odds. Scottie has required multiple massive comebacks on Sundays to leap back into contention after poor starts at the Phoenix Open and Pebble Beach Pro-Am. I will be looking to fade last year’s 6-time winner as cracks in his form begin to show.
Looking down the board, Tommy Fleetwood’s name jumps out from the list. The Englishman finally broke his infamous run without a PGA Tour victory last year in the TOUR Championship. His performances at Riviera have also shown positive progression in recent years, including a top-10 finish last time out. Such improvement is a good sign at a tricky course with greens you can only learn from experience.
Fleetwood also has some key ball-striking statistics supporting his case for a second PGA Tour victory here at Riviera, including a strong drive % on course with poor green-in-regulation numbers compared to the tour average. If Tommy can nail his approach shots, he should be able to take care of the rest on the green. I like this number at (+2000) and recommend a shot on it.
Why You Should Bet Matt Fitzpatrick and Harris English
Another man across the pond who may hoist a trophy come Sunday is Matt Fitzpatrick. Quick research would suggest passing based on back-to-back cuts at Riviera, but Fitz earned a top-5 finish in 2021 and top-30 the year prior. He’s gotten off to a great start in 2026, to boot: a shot in the bunker on the last hole ruined potential consecutive top-10 finishes, and his putter isn’t even cooperating.
Fitzpatrick gained almost 8 strokes on approach at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am and isn’t far away from his last victory (DP World Tour Championship). If his putting returns to form, he should be in the running come the final day. Trust in the Brit to present some value at (+3500).
I’d also like to spotlight a man not from England, but named after it. Harris English (+4000) finds himself near the top of the pack to win The Genesis Invitational after a strong introduction to the new year. English has been great off the tee, a beneficial trait to have at punishing Riviera. Indeed, bogey avoidance, and with rain in the forecast, limiting errors will be crucial. After top-15 finishes in his last two starts in Pacific Palisades, don’t be surprised when you see English scheduled for a late afternoon tee time on Sunday.
Don’t look past Harris English at (+4000) at Bovada.
Genesis Invitational Picks: Min Woo Lee, Maverick McNealy Show Value
Fan favorite Min Woo Lee almost stole the show in Pebble Beach last weekend with a 7-under 4th round, ultimately falling one stroke short of the victor Collin Morikawa. Lee is inexperienced at Riviera Golf Course but has found his groove on the greens, a common critique of the young “chef.” His Australian background should help with the Kikuyu grass, and a 4th-placed ranking in total driving on Tour should give him enough advantageous opportunities to stay on the unfriendly Poa greens.
Bet Min Woo Lee to win his second PGA Tour event at (+5000).
If 50/1 odds are your thing, add Maverick McNealy to your bet slip as well. McNealy is one of the best Poa putters on the field and finished 7th in his last appearance at Riviera. He’s enjoyed a great beginning to 2026 and could seriously threaten the big guns at Riviera if his impressive ball-striking continues. Take a stab on Mav at (+5000), available at BetOnline.
