“We’ve been playing some good baseball right now,” said Tigers Miguel Cabrera, who has a 1.222 OPS while batting .403 with six homers and 20 RBIs over his last 16 matchups with Boston. “We’re aggressive and focused on what we’re going to do on the field and getting it done.”
The Boston Red Sox will have Jake Peavy as the starter for this matchup; the 32 years old right-hander is 1-1 this season after eight starts, with a 3.94 ERA. On his last start he threw 4.1 innings, allowed nine hits and six runs against the Twins.
“Just didn’t make a whole lot of quality pitches tonight,” Peavy told the team’s website. “I’ve got to get better, and I will get better.”
