The Atlanta Braves won the 2021 World Series with a 7-0 victory over the Houston Astros. Atlanta finished the series in Game 6 in Houston. The win was the first Major League Baseball title for the Braves since 1995.
The Braves were not the favorite to win the National League or the World Series in 2022 according to the opening odds. The Los Angeles Dodgers were and remain the favorite in those categories. However, the Braves, who opened as +1100 to win back-to-back World Series titles, improved their chances of a repeat according to the oddsmakers. TheDodgers, who won the 2020 World Series, were also the favorites to win the 2021 title. Los Angeles triumphed over the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Wild Card in 2021 and then topped the San Francisco Giants 3-2 to take the NLDS. They defeated the Chicago White Sox 3-1 in the ALDS and then topped the Boston Red Sox 4-2 in the ALCS before losing the World Series to the Braves.
The Braves were among the top preseason picks to win the 2021 World Series, with an opening line of +1200. The teams ahead of them in the early odds last season were Rays (+1000), Padres (+800), Yankees (+650) and Dodgers (+425). Right now, the only teams with better odds than the Braves (according to BetUS) are the Dodgers (+450), Astros (+650) and Yankees (+900).

2021 Playoff Teams
The Tampa Bay Rays, who were favored over the Red Sox in this season’s ALDS, are a +1350 (via MyBookie) to win the 2022 World Series. The Milwaukee Brewers, who faced the Braves in the NLDS, are listed at +1540, while the Cardinals are a +2310 longshot. The White Sox have better odds at +960 as do the Giants at +1250.
