Jake Peavy will start for the Giants in the matchup that starts 10:10 PM ET at the Dodgers stadium. Peavy is 6-4 this season with a 2.16 ERA. San Francisco needs three wins in order to clinch a playoffs berth.
“The bottom line is we need to win some games,” Giants pitcher Ryan Vogelsong said. “Everybody knows what we’re playing for and everybody knows what’s at stake. You prepare the best you can and go out and see what happens.”
For the Dodgers will go right-hander Dan Haren, who’s 13-11 in the season with a 4.41 ERA. Los Angeles offense will try to do the job knowing that Haren is not a great pitcher. They are 7th in run, 3rd in batting average and 1st in base percentage in the Majors.
