MLB Picks – Braves Try To Keep Rolling against Pirates

Considering the opponents they have faced, what the Atlanta Braves have done this season is pretty remarkable and they will try to keep it up as they take the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first game of the series, this Thursday at 7:05 PM ET at PNC Park.

Braves Pirates BettingThe Braves will put Julio Teheran on the field to thrown from the start, and the Pirates will go with lefty Jeff Locke.

Atlanta has won 10 games in a row, and 12 of their last 13, which is the best record in all Major League Baseball, including a win 6-3 over the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night.ย  In that win the Braves scored four runs in the 8th inning with five Home Runs total in the night.

“It’s fun when you can do that,” Braves Justin Upton said. “But our goal is to go out and play good baseball every night, pitch well, play good defense, put together good at-bats and we’ve been able to do that so far.”

“You know the power is there,” Atlanta manager Fredi Gonzalez. “That doesn’t surprise you. It’s nice to have that type of arsenal in your club because it’s a game-changer. One swing of the bat and you can put some runs on the board, so that’s always nice.”

Julio Teheran has pitched twice this season leaving both games without decision; his ERA this year is up to 7.36 which is too high for any pitcher who wants to play for a contender.ย  However, the Pirates have problems scoring runs on a regular basis, which means he should be fin for Thursday.

Take Atlanta to keep rolling in Pittsburgh.
