The Cardinals stole game one from Clayton Kershaw and now they just need to win-out their two home games to advance. Of, course, that’s easier said than done knowing the Dodgers lineup, but they are in a god position.
St. Louis will send John Lackey to the mountain with a 14-10 record in the regular season with a 3.82 era.
”No, I don’t wear them very much, ” Lackey said Sunday about his two World Series rings. ”Maybe to a wedding or stuff like that. They’re a little big and a little flashy, not exactly my style.”
”Yeah, definitely take pride in that, ” Lackey added. ”I want to pitch well this time of year, but things I’ve done in the past aren’t going to help me tomorrow. ”
The Dodgers need at least one win at Busch Stadium, and this Monday matchup could be a good situation for them. Los Angeles will start left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu with a 14-7 record this past regular season and a 3.38 ERA. Keep an eye on Ryu as he’s battling with a shoulder injury.
”It’s an honor for them to trust me with this tomorrow, ” Ryu said. ”I don’t want to let them down.”
The Dodgers are -113 in the money line and the Cardinals are the home dogs listed +103.
