AMERICAN LEAGUE WIN TOTALS
With a total of 85.5, the Angels would have to win 14 more games than they did last season to hit the OVER. Los Angeles brought in third-baseman Anthony Rendon, who hit.319 with 34 homers and an NL-leading 126 RBIs with the Nationals in 2019, as well as manager Joe Maddon, who exceeded 85.5 wins in nine of his past 12 seasons with Tampa Bay and Chicago.
However, after missing out on Gerrit Cole, the Halos’ starting pitching is paper thin. Recent rumors suggest they could still add a starter and/or will open with a four-man staff while they wait to plug two-way star Shohei Ohtani into their rotation in mid-May.
It might not happen in 2020, but White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson says he’ll win a Gold Glove https://t.co/juhmfvYIPT

While everyone’s pulling for three-time AL MVP Mike Trout to win his first career playoff game, don’t count on this being year. We like the UNDER.
The White Sox are in a similar boat to the Angels as they’ll have to add 13 victories to last year’s total in order to exceed 84.5 wins. Unlike Maddon’s club, though, Chicago is four deep in the rotation with Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez, Gio Gonzalez, and free-agent acquisition Dallas Keuchel.
The club also added veteran leadership (catcher Yasmani Grandal and DH Edwin Encarnacion) to a young lineup headed by AL batting champion Tim Anderson. With the Indians likely to take a step back, bet the OVER on the South Siders.
NATIONAL LEAGUE WIN TOTALS
After replacing the Mets‘ initial choice, Carlos Beltrán, first-time manager Luis Rojas only has to improve the club’s record by one win from last year to hit the OVER on NYM’s 86.5 total.
Playing in baseball’s most-competitive division with the Braves, National,s and Phillies won’t make it easy, but you have to like a starting rotation featuring NL Cy Young favorite Jacob DeGrom, Noah Syndergaard, Marcus Stroman, and Rick Porcello. Former Yankee Dellin Betances should also firm up a bullpen that flamed out in the second-half of last season.
Fernando Tatis Jr. is full-go for camp. And, yes, he’s still a shortstop. (Plus, a little bit about why those outfield rumors weren’t completely out of — sorry, I had to — left field.)https://t.co/zxXdEgFITE

If Pete Alonso can follow up a historic rookie campaign where he mashed 53 homers, New York looks like a playoff team in 2020. Grab the OVER.
We’re pessimistic about the Padres‘ chances of winning 14 more games than they did 2019, which they will need to do to surpass their 83.5 total. The combo of Manny Machado and 21-year-old shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr., a contender for NL MVP, could be enough to make us look foolish, but this team has one of baseball’s ugliest starting rotations on paper.
In a division with the dominant Dodgers and an improving Diamondbacks squad, San Diego will be lucky to finish .500.
