MLB Betting – Milwaukee Brewers at San Francisco Giants

Milwaukee Brewers (+144) at San Francisco Giants (-154, 7.5 o/u)

The last game of Monday’s MLB schedule will have the San Francisco Giants (54-44, 28-22 Home) starting a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers (43-56, 23-27 Away) as Chris Heston (10-5, 3.18 ERA) looks to tie Madison Bumgarner for the team lead in wins this season with 11 (10:15 PM Eastern).

The Giants have been hot, clawing their way back to within a game of the Los Angeles Dodgers for the first place in the NL West standings. San Francisco is on a five-game winning streak with wins over the San Diego Padres and the Oakland A’s and have won 11 of their last 12 games total.

Right-hander Chris Heston gives the Giants a good chance to extend their winning streak tonight; he’s 4-0 in his last six starts with a 2.03 ERA in that span. Heston went for 7.1 innings, allowing just one hit and no earned runs against the Padres his last time out.

The Milwaukee Brewers appeared to have solved their run scoring woes last week when they scored 34 runs over a six game span in which they went 4-2. But they crashed back down to earth this weekend, getting shutout in back-to-back losses at the hands of Arizona.

The last time these two teams met, the Brewers hit .194 while being swept by the Giants at Miller Park from May 25 to 27.  San Francisco has won the last six in a row against Milwaukee; another win by the Giants will match the longest winning streak in this series history. Kyle Lohse (5-11, 6.29 ERA) will be the man tasked with avoiding this streak, although the veteran right-hander is 0-2 on his last three starts and has the second worst ERA in the league for a starter.

Heston should work over this Brewers order en route to joining Bumgarner at 11 wins. Take San Francisco and consider betting the runline at 1.5.

Pick: Giants (-154).
