It’s the final race of the NASCAR playoffs Round of 16 this Sunday, so with plenty at stake, here we bring you our free Bass Pro Shops Night Race betting picks.
This is the third and final playoff race in the Round of 16. After this race at Bristol, four drivers will be eliminated from the competition.
Meaning only 12 drivers will still be left in the drivers’ championship the following week for the first Round of 12 race, to be staged at EchoPark Automotive 500. So, this is now getting serious. It’s last chance saloon for some!
What happened last weekend at the Hollywood Casino 400?
The Hollywood Casino 400 race was won by Bubba Wallace, who held off a late charge from Denny Hamlin to seal the victory.

Wallace’s win – his first of the season – was the second week running that a playoff race has been won by a driver not competing in the drivers’ championship. Erik Jones won the previous weekend at Darlington.
Christopher Bell finished third and is the only driver to confirm his position in the Round of 12. Meaning the other 15 drivers will be fighting it out this Sunday.
Elsewhere last weekend, as already alluded to, Denny Hamlin finished second. Hamlin has now finished runner-up in both rounds of 16 races, and he sits third in the drivers’ championship table on points, 11 behind Bell, and just one behind second in the table, William Byron.
Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol; All you need to know
Right, as we’ve already mentioned, this is the third and final race of the Round of 16. Four drivers exit the competition after this race, with the field competing for the drivers’ championship shrinking to 12.
So far, only Christopher Bell has secured his place in the Round of 12. The other 15 have to fight it out at Bristol. Any of the other 15 who wins this race advances to the Round of 12. The rest is decided on points.
Currently in a lot of trouble at the bottom are Kyle Busch, Austin Dillon, Chase Briscoe, and Kevin Harvick. All four sit below the cut-off point and are heading out as things stand.

The race this weekend is at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Without giving too much away, the clues in the name, it’s a night race. The green flag is at 7.30 pm, with 500 laps of the concrete circuit required to decide the winner.
Finally, just three times a non-playoff qualified driver has won this race. The last one was back in 2007. So the stats say this is likely to be a race for one of the favorites.
Who is the betting favorite to win the Bass Pro Shops Night Race?
The betting to win the Bass Pro Shops Night Race is fairly close, with different favorites with different sportsbooks. BetOnline, you can read more about them in our BetOnline sportsbook review, has Chase Elliott (+700) as their favorite.
After Elliott comes Kyle Larson (+750) and Denny Hamlin (+750). Already through to the Round of 12, Christopher Bell (+800) is next. With the in desperate need of a win, Kevin Harvick (+800) is also well fancied.

Chase Elliott is still the favorite to win the drivers’ championship with BetOnline, who make him +275 to win his second title.
Behind Elliott in the betting is in-form Denny Hamlin at +575 and Joey Logano at +650. The best NASCAR betting sites seem to be losing faith in the defending champion Kyle Larson, he is down to fourth in the betting at +700.
Christopher Bell and Ross Chastain are next, both at +800.
Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Betting Picks
Right, time for some NASCAR betting picks. With this being a tight betting race, it’s slightly harder to hedge our bets amongst the favorites. But it is with one of the favorites that we start.
Denny Hamlin +750
Hamlin is one of the in-form drivers. He’s looking good for the Round of 12 up in third place, so he can drive without any real pressure. Hamlin has two 2nd places in the last two races and also won this race in 2019.
What is not to like about him at the moment? Hamlin is well worth a bet, and I make him my first betting pick.
Kevin Harvick +800
The exact opposite of Hamlin, Kevin Harvick is in need of a win. Currently last in the Round of 16 standing, Harvick had a nightmare race at Kansas Speedway, retiring in last place before the end of Stage 1.
He is basically in the same position. He started the last race in the 16th position in the standings, needing the win. So this race is his second and final chance. Harvick won here in 2020 and 2016, and I think Kevin Harvick is worth a shout as the second betting pick.
If either of the two drivers wins this race we are well in profit. But if you are looking for an outsider to give you more options, then Martin Truex Jr at +1600 with BetOnline could be worth a go.
