Hamlin has a run of top-five finishes without wins that was amazing and maddening at the same time.
On paper, Hendrick Motorsports Racing has the best roster. Heck, its roster of drivers with their crews had some of the best cars the most often. However, Joe Gibbs Racing was able to adapt well enough to turn the tables at times. As a result, Hamlin eventually won twice in the playoffs and nearly won the Championship in Phoenix. He was right there. The No. 11 led.a carer-high 1502 laps and some believe he could exceed that this year.
